Derrick Oduro is a Ghanaian-Canadian, multi-disciplinary Designer based in Toronto, Ontario. With extensive experience, Derrick’s work spans in the areas of branding, editorial design, digital marketing, art direction, and product design. He recently completed his Associates at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) for UX/UI Design. Previously, he completed his undergraduate in Graphic Design at Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU) with a Bachelor’s of Design Degree. In addition, Derrick is the Founder / Creative Director of DOMedia - a digital agency he started over a year ago as an extension of his freelance expertise working with clients and personal brand. It aims to provide a community workspace and hub for like-minded creatives, more specifically, minority creatives, while also helping to drive small businesses forward with an array of multimedia services.

Derrick enjoys the process of turning ideas from nothing to something; drawing inspiration at any moment from his surroundings, people, travel, research, and personal experiences to spark creativity and bring his visions to life. He is a conceptual thinker and an entrepreneurial spirit; curious, detail-oriented, adaptable, proactive problem definer, and team player who can identify challenges to create well-executed solutions. In addition, he strives to change narratives and break barriers through visual storytelling by creating compelling, empathic user experiences that are ethical and inclusive. Thus, Derrick utilizes design as a communication tool and service; for innovation, authenticity, social change, representation and visibility, self-awareness, and business while aligning his work to his core values as a human being.
